SONY Computer Entertainment Inс сегодня объявила , что всеми ожидаемый Home Beta будет доступна для всех пользователей PS3 во всём мире 11 декабря 2008 года.
Посел успешного завершения закрытого бета-тестирования открытая бета будет развиваться с новыми особенностями и функциональными возможностями.
Также было заявлено что для пользователей SONY Computer Entertainment Europe будут доступны места на карте , такие как Far cry 2.
Также очень скоро после официального открытия открытой беты будут введены места таких игр как Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Warhawk, Motorstorm и SOCOM
Также Sony объявила о своих новых партнёрах , которые будут показаны в открытой Бете - это Diesel, современный дизайнер мебели Ligne Roset, энергетический напиток Red Bull, киностудия Paramount Pictures и также телевидение Hexus TV и Eurogamer.
В открытой бете будет доступна одежда и мебель с логотипами этих фирм, а также можно будет посоревноваться с друзьями в гонках на самолётах : Red Bull Air Race.
Фирмой Disel будут представлены последние новинки мужской и женской одежды.
Также Sony сказала что на отсрове Red Bull будет не только гонки на самолётах а также разные своего рода соревнования.
Остров будет расширяться , добавляя много нового и всё это станет доступно в начале 2009 года.
Также в Playstation Home Theather будет доступен игровой контент от Eurogamer и экслюзивные трейлеры от Paramount Pictures.
Paramount Pictures будет использовать Home для того , чтобы рекламировать свои новые фильмы. Первым из представленных фильмов будет Watchmen.

Speaking with Kotaku, Microsoft's Group Product Manager for Xbox 360 Aaron Greenberg shared his opinion on PlayStation Home, expressing that it feels outdated and there is a "huge gap" in the quality of Home when compared to Microsoft’s Xbox Live service.
"I think we have seen people are willing to pay for the premium experience," Greenberg said. "When they compare Live, even to Home, there is still a huge gap."
"What Home to me feels like is Second Life for hardcore gamers," he said, "it doesn’t feel like it broadens the experience and invites people in. When they unveiled it, it seemed innovative. I think what's happened is now here we are a couple of years later and we feel beyond that."
"It feels like 2005 tech in 2008. I'm not sure that’s what people want."
Needless to say, we certainly don’t share Greenberg’s views on the matter, but with PlayStation Home now entering its public beta phase, we’ll finally be able to see how punters react to the online social platform and whether or not Sony can deliver on its promises in the coming months как вам токое
